There is a way for landlords to avoid tenant rent arrears – Rent Protection Insurance

UK Landlords Without Rent Protection Insurance
Are Owed £850 Million In Unpaid Rent Arrears

According to a new survey among PRS landlords, almost half a million private rental sector landlords in the UK have experienced increased rent arrears in the past 12 months.

Many of these landlords were obviously unaware of the benefits that Rent Protection Insurance offers both landlords and tenants. Whether landlords own a large rental property portfolio or just have a single buy to let property, non-payment of rent is a serious and increasingly common problem for many landlords.

The research was conducted by the National Landlords Association (NLA) and they discovered that on average PRS landlords face losing out on £1,649 of outstanding rent each year, totalling £850 Million (GBP) worth of rent arrears from non paying tenants.Even the most advanced and market leading tenant referencing system in the UK can’t predict whether a tenant will suffer from a serious illness or accident which leaves them unable to work or become unemployed. Landlords can avoid the inconvenience and increased financial pressures of tenants falling into rent arrears with Legal 4 Landlords 100% rental income protection insurance.

  • Protect 100% of rental income against non-paying tenants

Spokesman for Legal 4 Landlords, Sim Sekhon, said “The potential impact of tenants falling into rent arrears can be devastating for the landlords property rental business as financial pressures increase without the rental income coming in. Rent Protection insurance provides both the landlord and their tenants with a little extra peace of mind should the unexpected occur.”

The research also found that 22% of PRS landlords were worried about their tenants continuing to meet their rental obligations over the Christmas period and into the New Year, as tenants face increased financial pressures and seasonal work comes to an end.

Landlords Who Have Rent Protection Insurance Don’t Have Rent Arrears!
